Question: Is it better too know a lot about a few things or is it better too know a little about a lot of things? There is no short answer for any position taken. We believe that the answer would depend on what one is looking for a particular situation. When it comes to collectibles, our perspective is that it is nice to be well rounded in a variety of topics which will enhance life outside the daily stresses of life.
We are often asked, “why do we collect this and why do we collect that?” Everyone needs a release in life apart from what we experience everyday. Maybe that’s why Disney World is so successful! So after hearing questions about what we collect, the most accurate response is simply, “Why Not.”
Why Not Collectibles was established to enhance our passion of collecting and investing in collectibles with a special focus on stamps, coins, and sports cards. We only stock what we enjoy which at times led us into other areas of collectibles we found interesting.
Although we focus on quality items for the discriminating collectors and investors, it’s very important to note that we never ignore youngsters!
Danny Spungen, Chief Operating Collector, remembers his younger years of going to shows and being ignored by dealers. Little did they know that he was well financed with the backing of his parents. Those that were nice were rewarded very very well over the years.
If you are a youngster, a parent interested in getting their child involved in collecting, a retired person looking for a new hobby or a novice collector or any type, we will never give you a fake smile!
